Schiers/Switzerland
Background / Challenges
The basic idea of the owner of the property was on the one hand to control the flow of traffic to and from the parking area of the shopping mall and on the other hand to have a 24/7 monitoring of the petrol station shop. Main risk: Robbery of the shop, vandalism, etc.
The shopping mall is located directly at the main road leading to a very popular tourist resort (winter and summer) and is therefore likewise highly frequented by walk-in visitors. The whole mall has been built new and needed a complete outdoor lighting- and surveillance planning based on the concrete parameters defined by the property owner.
OWLS Solution
For the whole property OWLS worked out a combined lighting- and surveillance concept. Lighting was realized by using a state-of-the-art energy-saving LED luminaire with unique light distribution features. All lights are fully electronically controlled (timetable, dimming, etc.).
The surveillance concept is based on the installation of different ATHINA CCTV Systems with invisible embedded SONY EP-580 PTZ IP cameras being placed in a 90° position to each other (distance roughly 70m/ea). The first system sector controls the complete flow of traffic with all entry- and exit areas. The second system sector monitors the petrol station and –shop area in order to identify possible criminals including their cars being used for escaping from the site. A third system sector then was installed with an embedded Fixed Dome Camera (SONY EM-600) to get hold of model, colour and license place of the various cars.
The storing of the relevant data is done by using particular servers being placed in a separate control room.
